What about simple +1 button attached to every topic (or post)? It would be very useful in „Future Requests” sub-forum.

Yes, I think it might be a good idea, but at the same time I also think forums aren't really made for that.

Not sure  what others think, but maybe using Trello or PHPback might make the whole thing more transparent and could also help keeping the GitHub issues clean(er).

Anyone got any experience with these tools?

I've been using Trello for a few weeks, but I would rather say that it's designed for tasks distribution within team, not to get feedback or FR. PHPBack seems to be more promissing, but I have never used it.

Strong Trello user here. It has a power-up for voting + proper permissions you can set. So it's at least an option.
