Title: Spin game
Post by: venusian on January 08, 2013, 02:53:51 pm
This is a single button shooter (that button being the space bar). Would like it to have more snazzy effects but I'm devving on a 6 year lappy with an integrated Intel GPU so not too much scope available. It's currently running at 60fps and I intend it to stay that way.

Your turret rotates. Press space to shoot the incoming baddies. When you shoot the direction of rotation of your turret changes. Getting the right sequence of colours earns you score combos. The baddies don't shoot back but if one gets to the middle then your combos are cleared. It's game over if you finish a level without any combos (unless you got all of them on a previous level, which would have earnt you a one-time save/pass). Levels are a bit more varied than in the video - single and 2+ turret directions, other baddy types etc.

It's much easier to hit the baddies when they're close to the centre but that's rather riskier as it you don't get all of them, you lose your combos.

Sound goes blip, bleep and whoot.

Only 30 seconds because I'm too mean to pay for FRAPS.

Looks interesting!

Is there a way we could try it on out own? :)

Not yet. I want to add a couple of extra features then I'll upload a binary and eventually the source. Will be a week or two.
