Hi, I just found Laurent post saying:
Definitely SFML 2. It's just one (or two) major feature away from the public release, the only thing that you have to take in account is that the graphics API will change a lot.
It was posted on 1 Jun.
I wonder when official release is going to happend because I want to use SFML in my project for summer project(coding will start in 1 month) and I would like to use official API and I know there are big differences between 1.6 and 2.0

You can go ahead and start using it today if you wanted. Right now it's perfectly usable, even if it's not "officially" released or whatever.
-
And even if the graphics API changes while you're developing your project, you can stick to an older revision and still use the current API.
To answer your question: there's no date, it will be released when it's ready.

Okay, I will use 2.0. Thanks.

If no official date, could we at least perhaps get a time estimate? Pretty please?
I'm sorry, but no. It's really hard to estimate. "A few months or weeks" is the best I can tell you.

Of course, "a few months or weeks" could mean anything between 14 and 240 days (or more). heh.
