Title: Demon's Eye
Post by: acrin1 on October 13, 2007, 06:35:51 pm
Hi,

I've been a big fan of the old tile based style RPGs for a number of years and finally decided to have a go at creating one myself using SFML.  So far I've just started working on a map editor so the design is still at a very early stage and many things are likely to change over the coming months. There are screenshots and a record of my efforts to date here:

So far using SFML has been a very pleasant experience. I've been surprised by how few SFML problems I've actually had. Hopefully in the next month or two I might have an early demo version available. Any feedback or suggestions welcome in the meantime.

Good to see another SFML project on the road. Looks good, I'm looking forward to the demo whenever it's ready. Good luck!

It's been on hold for a while. I'm moving house and that's taking all my time up just now.

Nice work.
I like roguelike games, although I never managed to beat nethack.
I'll start my own project at the end of this year. However, I'll try a more "modern" approach, ie: more polished graphic with 32 bit color and animation , a more detailed story line with personality, love hate etc. It will be something like the Shiren the wanderer or Izuna( DS) series. I think such approach can make the game more appealing to the younger audience who know nothing about the good old days of ASCII games but at the same time, it still attracts hardcore fans.
