Hi
I'm proud to announce that the SFML team counts a new member :)
Jonathan (a.k.a Sonkun) will maintain the Android port, the Linux packages for SFML (and for as much bindings & add-on libraries as possible), and continue to work on his Python binding.
And yes, he's a french speaking guy too :P
-
The French conspiracy slammed again. ;) "Welcome" Sonkun. I guess you play an important part in SFML, considering the growing market of Android devices. A lot of us are looking forward to play around with SFML on the mobile devices, so make sure to keep us updated. :)

Actually, I'm the only real French guy (Marco is Swiss and Jonathan is Belgian) ;D

Welcome to the SFML team! :)
-
Thanks everyone! :)
I'm proud to join the SFML team and I'll do my best to give you an awesome experience of SFML on Android! I'll be happy to bring any interesting libraries and bindings into the Linux repositories, so I might contact some of you soon about that :) In a later stage, I won't mind packaging games or software so don't hesitate to ask me!
Thanks again! :)

I am sooooo looking forward to the Android port. A version of SFML for that will be the perfect excuse to try and learn how to develop for that platform.

Well, you're not going to learn much about Android development with SFML, since you'll always use the same cross-platform API. No platform specific stuff, except maybe a little bit in the compilation process.

How are you going to handle mouse and touch screen with the same API?
-
The first version of the iOS and Android ports will try to adapt to the current API. So, for example, touch events will be reported as mouse events.
Mobile specific stuff may be added later, when we get enough feedback and experience with these ports.
-
So you will only support mono-touch ? Or do you have other ideas ?
-
In order to support multi-touch events, fingers can be mapped to mouse buttons, for example. That's what Jonathan does in the Android port.

Great news, thank for your work guys ;)
