Title: One Room - 37th Ludum Dare Jam

It's been quite a while since I last created a topic in this subforum! :)

I've taken part in the 37th installment of the Ludum Dare Jam.
The topic was "One Room" and after pretty much throwing away all the work from Saturday, I managed to finish a sort of point-and-click puzzle game.

Goal: Leave the room successfully.
Controls: Use the mouse to navigate and the keyboard to enter numbers and letters.

It felt quite nice being able to just get into it and code again!

cool, it looks more like mission impossible, nothing wants to open except the egg. is it solvable ?

Yes, everything you need is in the game, but it's a puzzle game, so you'll have to look and test a few things. ;)

I finished the game but I cheated on the phone initially. After it wouldn't work with the pin from the egg I eventually gave up and looked at the resources for the image of the unlocked phone and continued with that information. I managed to complete the game with no further trouble. I realize now that the pin on the piece of paper is not exactly the pin and I have figured it out, but I think that one was too difficult because I didn't have any reason to doubt that that number was the correct one. With the briefcase on the other hand it is obvious that you have to change something because you can't type letters. But I really liked the concept of the game.

Well yeah I think it highly depends on how much puzzle game "experience" you have and/or how much you like to explore/try things. Maybe I should include a hint somewhere in the game for people that get stuck.

Woohoo I won!  Cool little game.  Played it on Wine without a problem.

I would agree with the first puzzle being hard.  I wasn't sure if I simply had the combination wrong, or if I had to press enter / do some other action after entering in the combination in order for it to take effect.  I think an easy fix would be to change the order of the puzzles.  The briefcase puzzle is easier in that it's more obvious that you need to change the combination somehow.  So you'd go through that puzzle first where you're forced to distrust the note, and then on the PIN you'd have some reason to distrust what was written there by example of the briefcase note not being 1 to 1 with the combination.

I always miss clicking something or ten when playing these kind of games  ;D . I wouldn't call anything about a game that takes 3-5 minutes to finish hard really. Also, typo, "Got to the cupboard", and the game should end or something when you win.
