Title: Forum database errors
Post by: Laurent on May 04, 2020, 09:09:25 am
Hi

It seems that nobody was able to post a new topic nor perform a forum search the last few days.

The SFML server was moved to a new host, and apparently this caused an error in the forum database.

This should now be fixed.

Apoligies for the inconvenience! ;D

Also apologies from my side. While moving to a new host, all installed software versions were too new for our beloved SMF. Downgraded everything, now it's working again – including searches.  :o >:(

Hi,
it seems that the search function is still broken: I always get a "database error" whenever I try to search anything.
Regards,
A random engineer

Thanks for letting us know. I'm still looking into this and will hopefully find a fix soon.

In the meantime you can also use Google with the site:sfml-dev.org option.

I still have a lot of bugs since then. They should somehow separate the database from the website and platform to decrease the number of errors. Another option would be to create a separate CRM for users to find easier the necessary data. In order to make the data more useful or augment third-party data or consolidate existing one, the owners do crm data enrichment (https://www.globaldatabase.com/what-is-lead-enrichment).
All in all, I hope CRM would be a solution to get rid of errors and bugs.
