Title: First SFML game development book recommendation?
Post by: tomloe on September 26, 2020, 02:56:24 am
Hi, everyone, I am new to SFML and I have already gained some knowledge for C++.
I am just wondering which book should I buy to learn SFML and make a small game demo.

There are altogether 5 books according to the book link https://www.sfml-dev.org/learn.php (https://www.sfml-dev.org/learn.php), should I just start from the frist book (SFML Game Development) or I can start with the newest one(Mastering SFML Game Development)? Are all these books have same difficultily levels?

Thanks a lot for help :-) !

I can recommend the SFML Game Development book, but I also haven't read the other ones, so some might also be good.

From what I've heard and given a glance:
Essential is very basic and you can get a lot of the info also in the official tutorials and documentation.
Blueprints had some questionable concepts and relatively low code quality.
