Title: [RFC] Package for Debian
Post by: christoph on April 26, 2008, 10:17:11 am
As I am trying to get sfml into the Debian Distribution I am currently building a set of Debian .deb Packages for sfml.

Actually there is a Version for C++ which could be testet. I have it online on http://testing.coders-nemesis.eu/sfml_deb/

NEW:
I have uploaded the 1.3 release both for i386 and mips systems

Thanks for this contribution :)

When you think this package is stable enough, just let me know and I'll add it to the SFML download page.

I think I'll rework this whole Package but not sure yet.

Tecnically the Package should be stable by now work is needed Primarily on documentation & co.

A question to CSFML:
This seems to be built from the same sources but only use different headers. Is this right? PySFML seems to be quite another thing though - beeing more an independent project?

No no. It would be great if such things would be possible ;)

Actually, each binding should be considered as an independant project and have its own installation package. So, don't care about CSFML or PySFML for your package -- or make separate ones for those.

Well but CSFML and SFML share the same name for its libraries in the 1.2 release (in svn it seems to be changed though)

I'll make different packages anyway so that one needs only to install what he needs. (C++ is priority for me so the others may need to wait)

As of now libsfml has just entered the debian NEW queue and will hopefully be accepted by FTP Team.

I'll put an Etch Version, which should be useable for any supported Debian and Ubuntu Releases, with identical Setup on the Link above which would be fine to be included in the download page
