This could be rather useful since we have so many topics and it can be hard to dig up old information when you don't know where it went.

Odd wonder why I didn't see it?

It is up. Under "SFML forums". Between "FAQ" and "Memberlist". :)

On that note, it would be kinda nice if it could be moved somewhere that's easier for new people (the folks who will be using it anyways) to find.

The search bar is not enough. I've been unable to find quite a few of the useful old topics that Google found. No matter what permutation of the words I try, or even exact copied contents of the post will find it. Very annoying when it seems to be on the exact problem that I have and I can't find it.
Would it be possible to make the links to the old forum redirect to the new equivalent page in some way?

I hope you also tried the advance options (http://en.sfml-dev.org/forums/index.php?action=search;advanced).
