Some platform may not have up-to-date compilers (like between gcc 3.4.5 and gcc 4.3 for windows, or any embed architecture).

General / SFML2 build problems

GCC can print messages in various language.
this error is in finnish, probably because of locale / LC_ALL / LANG or corrupt/incorrect lc_message file (the ones with .mo extension)
I already got that kind of error, but i upgraded gcc soon after it.

Window / Removing the console

there is no sfml-main.lib in SFML-1.5-sdk-windows-mingw.zip , only in SFML-1.5-sdk-windows-vc2008.zip ( and maybe the 2005 one )
EDIT: using -mwindows option of mingw g++, there is no more console window
