General / What are the dependencies of SFML?

I am having a lot of problems find a list of dependencies of SFML (especially for GNU/Linux) althought people seem to be happy to refer to one -- this could ofcourse just be me, being lazy, but I would like a pointer or a list of stuff that must absolutely be present for SFML to compile (as well as a list of stuff that makes SFML better).

At the moment the sound part seems to be the problem, but I expect several more problems in that department.
