Ah fair enough. But glad to hear it's Wine-able :)

Aw that's a bummer, there's no plan for a linux build at the moment sorry :( But the game is pretty basic 2D stuff so should run smoothly under Wine. you can actually get the basic game for free (without extra character and bonus materials), if you want to check out how it runs.

Let me know how it runs under Wine, actually, I'd actually be curious to know.

DINPUT - direct input. I don't do any handling directly or Joypad support, it all goes through the standard SF mouse and keybaord events. I searched forums and bug repository and didn't see anything, so wondering if it's really SFML/my game related or something on the end user. anyone every encountered this or might have any thoughts on the topic?

Interesting analysis FRex but I gotta repeat the request - could you spoiler tag that?

As for the stuff you didn't get... perhaps you didn't dig deep enough just yet ;)

I've been trying to figure out the best scenario for some time now. :P

Haha, let me know if you find out. I honestly don't know if there really is one; there probably is a "most optimal" one but not sure which, too many factors involved :p

There is a huge emphasis on freedom of choice. It was refreshing to not be completely patronised by a game, to be treated like a critical reader.

Compilin' our next significant milestone... let's play "spot the missing paren" :p

Thanks for the thoughts guys, especially about price. Very encouraging to see you guys would actually be interested in paying for it :) We were promising it free since the start so backing out of that now would just look bad, but as I mentioned, we've always considered the potential for paid extras on top so we might consider. Will need to look more into Steam rules too I guess!

I've voted yes, but I wonder if you've gone through the whole legal readings of Valve, because from what I know and have checked with others, you can't release a completely free game on Steam. Every game that's Free 2 Play on Steam offers some starter packs or in-game purchases or both. The logic behind is, that Valve can't just release all kinds of free game (otherwise the shop would've already been overflown), because with every new game, they add additional load to their servers and similar, thus they'll something in return. If the game got a price tag, Steam will cut-off some of the costs for themselves. If you have starter-packs, you again won't see every dollar landing in your pockets and similar goes for in-game purchases.
Thus I'm wondering, how are you gonna get a free games on Steam?

Dang I should finally get into doing the beta testing, but I don't enjoy reading that much, I'd rather just put out a bug list... :D

Thanks for your continuing support (and shoutouts on the blog :) )

Hmmm, interesting point, we hope it won't be an issue. We do have some ideas for additional content/expansions stuff already we were thinking of monetizing, so perhaps that would work if we offer that on top of the base free game?

What I really, really liked about Postmortem, though, I think, was how it dealt with burgeoning feminism in the country. It's surprisingly vivid, and almost a bit unsettling as to how it was presented.
