SFML projects / Re: Let There Be Light 2
« on: April 26, 2015, 01:57:06 pm »
Uops!! Precisely yesterday I took a  preliminary look and i tried the example: The application crashed  in the wood bridge ;D

Actually, I miss documentation   A documented API. :'(. At least, I think an exhaustive relation of features would be interesting. For example; does it cover all functionality of the original LTBL (1.5.1)?

In any case, I want you to know that this news has brightened my day a lot,  8) Thanks! lolz123

Yes!!  :D I confirm that Thor builds correctly now. Thank you for your very swift reaction, Nexus. (!)

Old gcc compiler? Well...

bash-3.1$ gcc --version
gcc.exe (i686-win32-sjlj-rev2, Built by MinGW-W64 project) 4.9.2
Copyright (C) 2014 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

It will be probably a specific problem with MinGW.  ::)

Hi! Nexus. Yes! Thank you for your amazing add-on for SFML.  :-*

Today i have tried to build the library with Mingw-Builds(i686-4.9.2-release-win32-sjlj-rt_v4-rev2.7z) from github(last commit: cf93e235233d3cf583babf7939f84f187d4ab546), and...

I get warnings...

and errors...

However There are no problems with Visual Studio 2013 ;D

PS: I am using SFML from github too (last commit: 20f213bfac713c5d98abf6afb6f893c318bc9fdd)

I do not have words to describe the happiness that inspire this news for me. Thank you, lolz123!

Perhaps we can work together somehow and create the ultimate 2D lighting system!  8)

Boys! I am sure that something like that would attract tons of attention! The forum would collapse with the new subscriptions!! The video-game scene would change forever!!! ;D I am sure!

Man you just keep bringing awesome stuff to the community! Probably one of the best contributors in the whole community.

Ah, I first didn't realize you were the creator of Let There Be Light/GLLight2D and all the AI-related simulations/games (NEAT Visualizer, NNBrain, Alife, Hero Must Die). I agree with Grimshaw, your contributions are indeed amazing! :)

True!. A fantastic contributor with -inspired contributions very inspiring-.  A pioneer in exotic domains for SFML :-*

I only am sorry (selfishly) that he lose interest/abandon so quickly his projects. :-X. Let's hope that he decides to found a project with mileage. And so, he will enter in the club of Nexus (Thor), SFGUI (Tank+binary), Ceylo(sfeMovie)... or Laurent (SFML)! :P

SFML projects / Re: Tool: Basis
« on: July 10, 2013, 06:35:12 pm »
It seems a great tool!  Delighted to be surprised. :P

 I do not know a free tool in this specific (but important) niche.  Perhaps Synfig Studio. On the other hand Spine (apparenty a very similar tool) is a commercial competitor. I was considering use Blender for Sprite Animation...

I missed the cross-platform and open source but it is enough fair I think . It seems ambitious.  Basis and Tiled can be on the same level in the 2D Toolset.

I recommend you a intense campaign of diffusion. This project deserves more visibility. It would be interesting that you subtitled your video of presentation.

Sorry for my creepy English.

It's a pity that the development of GLLight2D remains frozen.  :-\  It seemed so promising... At least it would be interesting to update the current library to the last version of SFML. And update the documentacion accordingly! ;D.

In any case I humbly encourage to create/maintain an extension for SFML on illumination.  ::) And yes. I kind of wonder if Nexus ( ;) would consider to add to Thor a module for illumination with outstanding design.  :D A module too big perhaps but too cool too.  8)

I think it is the more advanced  tmx parser 'released' for SFML in this moment. Thank you for your contribution fallahn!

I propose you open your own thread in SFML projects for more and better visibility and feedbacking with a feature list and so... Your work deserves it!

 A git repository will be welcomed too.  :-*

Thanks again!

just please make sure it uses cmake and compiles on linux out of the box

I agree.  ;)

 I will wait until the previous functionality (Let There Be Light 1.51) be stable in the new GLLight2D.

Thank you very much lolz123 for the work, and thank you for  uploading the project to Github!  ;D

I am working on a more generalized OpenGL 2D lighting system

Any update about this, Lolz? You have us in total suspense.  ;D

Thank you Ceylo!  :D. Not only games for SFML. Good. And besides it is usable for cinematics (intro, epilogue,...)...  ;D

sfeMovie is cool and its project website is elegant, or if you prefer, sfeMovie is elegant and its Project Website is cool. I am not sure.   ;) In any case I like very much the Movie class.  Two words: minimalist and smart. It is self-explanatory.

P.S: The demo works! (windows 7 64bits)

Lolz123, Do you consider to expand -Let There Be Light- to other post-effects like Fog of War (FOW), blur, illusory or sickest vision, ...?

If not, would you consider to create a separate library?  ;D

* I want to say a explicit|true Fog of War.  Perhaps a very generic|basic FOW encapsulated in a library. (Hard, soft, translucent fog)

And... a new -Let There Be light- release in the inmediate future, perhaps? :P

DJ

P.S: My English is crap, I know.  >:(

"MainMenu.h" or "MainMenu.hpp"?  ::)

DJ

I supposse it is a typo in post:

MainMenu.hpp
#ifndef MAINMENU_H
#define MAINMENU_H
class MainMenu{
public:
        void GetResult(sf::RenderWindow& renderWindow);
        enum MainMenuResult{Play,Quit,Load};
};
#endif
