I did build from source .
The source code found under http://www.sfml-dev.org/download/sfml/2.3/

The MinGW version found in 'C:\MinGW not used' appears to be 4.8.1
The MinGW version found in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CodeBlocks\MinGW' is 4.7.1

I also have Visual studio (VS Express) installed if that makes a difference.

When running my project a lot of these get thrown in my face by the debugger:

Error while reading shared library symbols for C:\Program Files (x86)\CodeBlocks\MinGW\bin\libstdc++-6.dll:

I googled and found a suggestion to recompile SFML 2.3 with the same compiler that is used by Code::Blocks.  I have two versions of MinGW - one in the Code::Blocks folder and one in the C: although I'm close to certain that the one in the Code::Blocks folder was used when I compiled SFML.

I guess that renders the suggestion useless. Right? So how do I get rid of the error?

Sorry if I'm being a tad newbish here :)

So I finally made a game :)

It uses a lot of SFML and not much else really. A thin layer of customization for input. Same for sprites and sounds. And voila! Ghost hunters for the PC is created.

It's a parody of the Ghostbusters game for the NES. I hope you'll like it :)

Trying to get it greenlit on Steam by the way. *hint hint*

Looks like that made my program run.

Now it says OpenGL version 3.3 on my console again.

...glGenBuffers fails as an unrecognized function though.
Same with glBlendEquationSeparate. My gpu is an AMD Radeon HD 6900 with 4 gigs of dedicated memory so it can't be that. Besides I've used these functions before but outside SFML/wxWidgets

And for anyone familiar with C::B I also tried removing Painter entirely and got a "it seems your project has not been build yet" message. I tried rebuilding and got no errors, but it came back up.

Sure take your time, and thank you for helping

I use sf::Texture for loading png's inside painter.cpp and that relies on graphics.hpp.
I might be able to load textures without sfml but I would prefer to use it.

General / Glew trouble when trying to run modern OpenGL

Hello

I'm trying to get OpenGl 3.3 to work with SFML 2.1. I read in the tutorials that I need to include Glew myself, which would explain why I can't get stuff like this working (undefined errors):

GLuint IndexVBOID;
glGenBuffers(1, &IndexVBOID);

and

glBlendEquationSeparate(GL_FUNC_ADD, GL_FUNC_ADD);
glBlendFuncSeparate(GL_ONE, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA, GL_ONE, GL_ZERO);


-but can use glDrawArrays etc.

I understand that Glew must be included before SFML (right?), but when I try that I get tons of this:

What am I completely misunderstanding? :)

Considering my limited experience I can only say that trafficking of large chunks of all currently supported overloads but as arrays would be extremely useful (if not critically necessary).


Really, what I'd say is keep:
setParameter (const std::string &name, float x)
setParameter (const std::string &name, const Color &color)

...but add
setParameterArray (const std::string &name, float* x, int n)
setParameterArray (const std::string &name, Color* colors, int n)

I'm not too concerned with having all these variations of 1 to 4 floats etc. I''m really only interested in either passing a float or several possibly huge amounts of floats.

I think it sounds like a great idea with more overloads.
I could personally really make use of a setParameterArray() for what I'm doing...
