SFML intro
« on: October 10, 2015, 06:05:24 pm »
I was just thinking - why don't we make some mind of intro for SFML. That will be interesting in some way e.g.  inserting this in SFML game if you want, to be proud of what you've made(actually i am trying to do something in after effects)

I've had similar ideas for a while, but since I'm not very good (or at all) with art related stuff and since I wanted to do programmatically rather than with "proper" tools, so I never got around to.

Would be quite interesting to see a few designs. :)

What sort of intro would we need here? A video or some programmatically animated visual wonder?

I guess anything goes. :)

Also note: I replied out of personal interest, this won't just turn into an "official" thing.

I think most useful would be a nice looking, yet simple "badge". Don't start with massive animations or whatever. Keep in mind SFML is a basic framework, it's far from being a complete engine (think Unity or Unreal Engine).

In the end, ideally it should be good enough to say "peeps, use this, don't come up with your own, so we're recognized", but for something like this it has to fit into other environments, no matter the art style, and it should be simple enough so people can use it easily (would you want to bundle a 5 MiB AVI file with your 500 KiB?).

It should be a "lean and mean" asset people can add to say "thank you". It wouldn't be forced/mandatory, so it has to be attractive.
