The main menu of the site get invisible if I switch the browser to text mode.

It's probably because of the negative margin. I should try to get rid of this.

I think it gets invisible because of the color of the font (white font on white background). Popup hints are in place when I hover above the menu.

Ok I see. Then I should use a black background color.
