How stable is the API for SFML 2.0 now?
« on: July 30, 2010, 08:11:43 pm »
Hi,

The title says it all really.  I'm currently using 1.6, but am very soon going to have to make some significant changes to the GUI for my game.  If the API for 2.0 is relatively stable then I would probably consider converting across, so any estimation on this would be extremely helpful.

Thanks,

Wibbs

Same questino here, I've used SFML 1.6 for a prototype (will post about it soon) but I'm really interested in the new version for other prototypes so I'd like to know if I can already help by using the current 2.0 trunk or is it too early?

If you talk about bugs and weird stuff, it's very stable.

If you talk about the API, the system, window, audio and network will probably not change until the final release. Only parts the graphics module may be modified.

Are there any tutorials available that take you through the main changes to the API, or is it a case of going through the documentation?

There are no tutorials yet, I don't want to start writting them before the API is stable enough.

But I improved the documentation a lot, it should be enough to start.
