SFML, Code Lite, and static linking

I asked a this a while back on the Code Lite forums, but haven't yet gotten a good response, probably due to the fact it is also SFML related.  I am wondering if anyone here uses Code Lite to code C++ with SFML.  On Windows I use Visual Studios and Code Blocks occasionally, but Code Blocks bugs me a bit.  I intend to be coding on Linux as well and Code Lite may suit me better in that respect.

What I am wondering is if anyone has had success statically linking SFML programs using Code Lite.  I can dynamically link with SFML on both OS and have no issues.  I would like to be able to statically link.  I know this is unnecessary on Linux as it has much better control of DLL files, but still it's something I would like to do.

I've set my libs to be sfml-graphics-s(-d) etc., but I can't figure out what to do with the SFML_STATIC setting required by both Visual Studios and Code Blocks.  If anyone has any insight in to this it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't use CodeLite (but I've it installed anyways ::)), so I can't fully confirm that it works, but since CodeLite is just an interface for compilers, the setup is very similar. Since SFML_STATIC is just a preprocessor define, you should be able to simply add it to the follow box:

That was actually the last thing I tried.  What it does is give me a whole slew of compiler errors that appear to my untrained eyes as a list of me linking to the wrong libraries, but my library list is as follows:

The list of errors I get setting SFML_STATIC in the preprocessor field is:

edit:  error list got truncated on edit, but you should still see what I mean.  And yes I am compiling in debug mode to match the libraries I supply in the configuration.
edit 2:  the code tags for the error list work in preview, but not when I post this message.  unsure why.

I downloaded the source from git and followed the instructions here:
http://www.sfml-dev.org/tutorials/2.1/compile-with-cmake.php

which I have done many times over the 2.0 release successfully.  I used the MinGW main installer(not TDM-GCC) and the current g++ version is 4.8.1.

Dynamic linking works perfectly in both Code Lite and Code Blocks.  Static linking works in Code Blocks, but I've yet to figure out static linking in Code Lite.

did you defined SFML_STATIC in your project?
I think I found your problem
in linker flags, add these lines:

I think I found my problem.  Stupid mistake on my part, but still have problems.  The static linking I did was against SFML 2.0.  I deleted both 2.0 and 2.1 and rebuilt 2.1.  Dynamic linking is fine, but static is giving me problems in both IDE.  I already posted the Code Lite errors so here are some Code Blocks errors.

link OpenGL and glu libraries and recompile and see what happen's

Yes, the first errors indicate a compiler version mismatch.

The new errors indicate that you have to link against dependencies.
Have you built SFML from source? If so you'll need to link all the SFML dependencies when linking static.

I ran into the same problems yesterday, there is something wrong with the current master.
I tried many things because linking against the "old" nigthly from http://sfml.my-gate.net/nightly/ works perfectly, but with master it doesn't.

So I downloaded the same repository state (commit cd84e84286, 3 months ago), cmake, compiled, -> linked just fine. Tried it again with master -> same errors as above. I could try different commits to see which one broke the code, but I'm sure theres something wrong right now :)

Could you try again with an older release? Ie. https://github.com/SFML/SFML/archive/cd84e84286e8ad64b54a675e9084e8f9ec5e9f0d.zip, thats the one used in the last nightly build.
