It took me quite a while to understand all this Twitter stuff - been there since Spring 2012, but only gotten to start being a bit more active since the beginning of last year. It's really awesome how you can connect with developers, companies, fellow players, etc. so easily and it doesn't feel so distant like other media.
Currently I'd say, it's my most favorite "social media", since you often get actually responds to your tweets and can craft your stream of information, the way you want and not they way you're being given by algorithms.
I'd like to see some more #sfml action going on there, so feel free to follow
