Actually think it's even something else. Threaded Optimization should cause high CPU load even with just one or two drawables.

Have you disabled "Threaded Optimization" as suggested before?

Tested it with disabled "Threaded Optimization", and it seems that the issue disappears.  :)
So, probably it's video card driver issue...
It's strange, because I'm using not so old processor - Intel Core i5 760 (4x core @ 2.8 GHz)

Maybe it just scales. ;) I remember seeing the CPU load with just a few drawables on my Core 2 Quad. So maybe the issue isn't completely gone with newer CPUs, just moved "back".
