I appears I don't have Photoshop, and paint.net/GIMP doesn't seem to open those .psd files properly. :(

Would you be willing to upload separate PNG's of the gear and foreground?

Didn't find my version of the psd, must've not saved it. However, i restored it as much as I could, and separated it into Wheelonly, Textonly, Iconsonly, Text w/ Icons, and full.

Ok, I had some fun playing with it. I put to together a 6 second splash movie, It looks pretty bad(my knowledge of video encoding isn't very impressive) but It shows what can be done. It does look very pixel-y, but that might be due to my bad choice of encoding(so many options, I have no idea what they all do :p) and the fact that I'm using Flash 8 rather than a recent one.

The spinning gear is very satisfying to look at. :D

https://legacy.sfmluploads.org/file/48

The archive includes .fla files for a splash based on Haikarainen's logo with the gear spinning slowing in the background, and a .fla with Pointy's logo, with a simple fade-in fade-out.

Also included are 800x600 MPEG videos of the two splash screens.

Thats cool! Cant really view .fla files tho.

I did also attempt to create a more smooth result using sony vegas video 10, and here is the result:
https://legacy.sfmluploads.org/file/49

Its 1 compressed .mp4, and 1 Sony YUV compressed .avi to maintain max quality, beware tho, the avi is at ~150mb uncompressed.

Made it fade in and out to and from black, and its displayed on a white background. The resolution is the same as the image, so its kinda a preview on how it would look with a fading ingame(since we wanna keep this resolution-independent). I rendered a 20second .avi without fading, and in the same imageresolution, so that you can just draw this as a splash in your application on a white background, and apply fading yourself. Also that gives you more control over how many seconds it will play, keeps it resolutionindependent(since you just draw it in the middle) etc.
Here it is: https://legacy.sfmluploads.org/sfml-full.rar
Didn't have enough space on my service so i just uploaded it to the serverroot :P Its 350mb uncompressed, ~50mb compressed.

I give you these videos in huge quality & filesize so that you can compress them by yourself to fit your needs, i might render a more compressed version of the videos if its wanted, and also render it on a black background. Just tell me if you think its needed!

That looks great, now I feel hyped up to make a game to stick it in front of. :D

EDIT: The .fla are flash project files.

Made a new, bumpmapped version. Looks a LOT cooler if you ask me :D
Only bumpmap on the wheel: https://legacy.sfmluploads.org/sfml-full-bumpmap.rar

I just added your logo as a temporary title screen. Gear rotates back and forth at random times/speeds, looks like someone opening a safe! :D

Looks nice.

I'll probably do a short gameplay video as well, it's about time and the game looks reasonably cool so standby.

*EDIT*

Here's a quick look at the logo without the gameplay part.

Was gonna animate it using rbSFML and erhm.. did this by mistake XD

https://legacy.sfmluploads.org/file/55

UPDATE: Allright here's a more complete attempt, did 3 different versions:
https://legacy.sfmluploads.org/file/56

I actually like only having the text pulsating in the bottom right because it makes the front more clean. Though if using the gear in the middle we can have that space for displaying what is currently being loaded.

Another UPDATE: https://legacy.sfmluploads.org/file/57
Added a little console in the background that will output what files are being loaded =)

My final loading screen :)

Thought this looked best and might even be an idea for the logo(except for the moving part)
