Thanks, great job on the logo! If you want to know what the color is it's RGB is 15, 77, 146.

The fading was just a black alpha blended opengl quad, after ten seconds I add + 0.01 to the alpha value until it's equal to 1.

In the application if you press R it will reset the timer and set the value to zero if you wanna watch it again. XD

F1 for the UPS and F2 for the FPS.

I haven't really been keeping up with the thread...

but I agree, that gear splash is really hot.  A still of it would work well for a static logo on the site/forums (you wouldn't want an animating logo).

Seems like it would work well on any backdrop color, too.

Very nice indeed.  It has my vote for the new logo (if that counts for anything)

I like Groogy's more. It feels less cluttered with icons.

I've used that wheel too but I make the SFML logo passing throught it with transparency. It look like the logo is going to the player

True, but I also like the version because of the two spinning gears which gives more the old "thinking" feel because they are rotating together. I don't know, a little steampunk feeling right?

I'm gonna try to do this in Adobe Illustrator, but I'm not the greatest artist. But I picture a monkey sitting at a computer with his hair blowing back because SFML is so "fast" and so "simple" a monkey can use it. (=

That is in no way an insult or downgrade of the quality of SFML, more just a silly analogy.

I removed it since it doesn't meet the requirement...

Nice that you want to add more but look at the requirements on the original post of the thread. Laurent specified some things that must be present in the logo's.

I think it's time to revive this topic :)

The "gear" logo seems to be the winner. But there are so many different versions of it... could each author provide its own final version? So that there are only a few logos left, and we can finally make the "official" decision.

I also need to see it in action:
- integrated to the website
- as a 16x16 icon

I have the feeling that smaller versions won't look as good as the big one, it has a lot of (too many?) details inside.

Here's my example of the gear version, I haven't done the original graphics(and I had to modify the gear color to not look too grayish in comparison to the background) so it doesn't look at it's best. I just like this setup because it goes perfectly with my loading screen ^^
