I think I like this favicon better:

The big S looks good. I hacked a quick tiny 16x16 image:



And a quick 32x32 (It would be nice to have a favicon in a few resolutions, so people with high DPI screens can get a higher res logo):

(note: these seriously were quickly hacked together, and spending some more time on it would actually help it to look proper)

I think a custom made low-res SFML looks good (like the 16x16 one here). If the low-res version aren't custom made than you get weird blurring/resampling when downsizing.

I can make optimized versions of various custom sizes and configurations if Laurent and the community decide to go with the design.

As for the favicon... Low-res can be tricky, but it is more than doable. Next time I'll recreate it from scratch rather than merely resize it.

As is, the logo is not recognizable. If you know that it should represent you'll be able to see it, but otherwise it looks more like some animals or similar...

Maybe some spaces and coloring could clear up things, but personally I don't like it that much.

A good animal symbole would be the pelegrin falcon : the fastest animal in the world. And it's a very simple animal... ok but still very fast, like your library

I followed up on this idea and came with these results:

Please tell me if this is something you guys think I should continue working on. It is done from scratch by me in photoshop, I made the bird with vectors(using pictures from google images as references) and have those saved.

I understand that you probably need to change the blue background on the website, although I think that might be worth it.

Well, it's always difficult to create a new logo but there is a greate rule that always works for those kind of things : "Less is more". The best idea is usually the simplest one, so I have just give it a try in order to give new materials to work with.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I absolutely LOVE this one. It's simple, the font looks nice, there isn't so many colours that it's distracting, but there  also isn't so few colours that it's boring. I like the idea of the pentagon representing the 5 modules, and overall this works really well.

I would imagine some speed effects on the logo and a falcon like this one, but inverted horizontaly and on the right of the logo :



But yours is already great btw.
