How about sigma to denote sumation as SFML has it all!!!!
I guess people would read it as an E by accident... :-\

Well, the irony is that SFML definitely doesn't have it all. It's a fairly minimal library.

Also, it has a helloJava naming convention (poking FRex ;)). Joking aside:

Good job Nexus! I *love* the following, however I'd suggest to add (more?) font anti-aliasing and check the proportions of the symbol and the text to share same baselines.

My personal preferences:

- green rather than blue
- grey rather than black?
- maybe something more "flat" than those linear gradients, or with only light and dark areas to fake some lighting (similar to the Ubuntu logo for example)
- I like the roundish look of the logo
- let's find less common fonts; I think Cornstalks is on the right way ;)

No, what I mean is that I like the rounded angles. It looks softer than right angles.

If I'm not mistaken by your previous comments in this threads, it seems to me you have a thing for retro-looking, bitmap-like fonts. Is this the direction to go?

Did you imagine the symbol to be colorized like at the first two logos?

What about the text? To be honest, it looked cleaner with a smooth gradient. Maybe I should still add a weak gradient inside each color, and a hard border between the two grays. I don't know which font you prefer either, could you be more specific? I downloaded a few, does any of them please you?

Hmm no. I rather like simple rounded fonts :P

Kind of.
I like the colors of Cornstalks' green logos (with the black outline).

I don't know. I think we should try as many ideas as possible.

I'd like the font to be
- simple
- a bit rounded
- not too thin
- sans serif!

So, your second font (which is the one you already chose previously, by the way) would be ok.

Which first two logos? ;D
The ones in my last post (only the symbols, ignore the text for now). I tried to apply your idea of a hard border between two colors, like the Ubunto logo. Apparently they were so bad you didn't even see them :D

I like the colors of Cornstalks' green logos (with the black outline).
Do you prefer the "normal" green over the rather dark green I used? In my opinion, his green is quite agressive, especially when combined with blue.

I figured that and edited my post just before you answered.

Yes I prefer his green. It's almost the same that I use in the new website. In fact I think we can completely drop blue. Green and grey/black would be the new colors.

These are just ideas to help progressing, but don't limit yourself to what I say. The most important is to submit as many variants as possible, to eventually find the right direction :)

What about giving the color codes of the new website's color scheme? Or even a screenshot.
I think a lot of people are influenced by the blue/green design featured on the current website.

Hm, I still don't see a statement about the "ubuntu-style" symbols themselves, maybe you forgot to send the edit? :-\

Concerning fonts, I'll search for others that meet your requirements. If you have some time (which you probably don't), you could also visit http://www.1001fonts.com and enter "SFML" in the text field, so that you get an idea how the text will look like.
