SFML Game Jam 2 - Post Mortem
« on: February 03, 2014, 11:43:59 pm »
It's been a tough weekend for some of the SFML community and I feel it would be a shame if all the projects just sat over there on the SFML Game Jam website and nobody was really talking about them (except maybe on IRC). To get your attention and inspiration I'll post all the screenshots with names here.

The theme was: Time Travel

A Temporary Outbreak - Nexus & eXpl0it3r

Chronix - Therocode

LexThree - Iteem

No name ;) - AlexAUT

Shielding 114 - thomas9459

ShotWarp - zsbzsb & Elijah Brown

The Loop - 1man2kinds

Time paradox - vip-ak47

time shooting thing - kimspindel

Right now I have to go over the game myself and will hopefully finally manage to add something to my SFML News...
To everyone that created something: Congrats! You're really awesome for getting something together in such  a short period of time! :)

Let the discussions begin! ;D

Thanks eXpl0it3r for putting these over here  :D

So far I tried all of the games that had windows builds and they all worked good for a 72 hour game  ;D Thanks to everyone for participating.

On a side note, if anyone is able to finish my game and beat level 10, the first person to show some proof (ending game screen) and I will give you a forum cookie  ;)

I never actually posted anything here before. Big thanks to everyone involved in this project (and sfml too). Creating a game in only 72h was a lot of fun (kinda).

I have been working my way through the games (it takes awhile because I need to compile everything from source), and I really have to say good job to all those that made games; it's been a blast playing each game and how they incorporated the theme.  ;D

Personally, this is the first game jam I have ever participated in, and in fact the first game I have brought to a playable state (which is actually rather sad, I have been programming for years... :'(). Sorry to all of those who have use Windows, as I have never done any development for it and don't know how easy it would be to get my game working on it.

Thanks to the SFML community for this great event. I can hardly wait until May 30th.  ;)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to participate in this second SFML Game Jam. However, the games made during this weekend were very interesting, and I hope I will be part of the next one. ;)
