DRM_IOCTL_GEM_CLOSe error on SFML2
« on: November 26, 2010, 12:14:39 am »
Well I found a previous post but there was no answer there.

I get a: "DRM_IOCTL_GEM_CLOSE 18 failed (region): Bad file descriptor"
every time I close the application after I have drawn a resource it seems like (though not with shapes!).

Is this a known error in SFML2 or am I just doing something very wrong in my rbSFML library? Cause I didn't notice this at my workstation. It appeared when I got home...

Hmm well after sleeping on it... It could be like he said in the previous post that the culprit is Compiz. Since my workstation got Ubuntu on a virtual machine which means Compiz can't be activated as the necessary drivers are missing. At home I use mainly Ubuntu so I do have compiz activated.

It doesn't crash the application or anything. It's just a little annoying error message. So if I could find a way to somehow disable the output before this message is printed then it would be "fixed".

Aight I can probably call this confirmed. At my workstation this message doesn't appear in the terminal. So the message is linked to the compiz composition manager. And I don't think you have any code that work with compiz right laurent? So probably nothing really apparent you can do to fix it.

An easy fix is not to launch your application trough a terminal, then the warning won't show ^^
