Why degrees?
« on: April 03, 2014, 02:15:49 am »
Why is SFML using degrees as a default unit instead of radians? Radians is pretty much standard in every mathematical environment and the default sin, cos and tan only accept radians. Why would users have to go through the hassle of having to take note if they are working in degrees or radians, when it can all be simplified to only using radians?

Well, I did search on this forum since I thought it should have been asked already, but all I got was an error message. Going into one of the subforums apparently restricts the search to that subforum, which I didn't know and didn't gave any result.

I'm sorry.

lol I find the degrees useful for what I'm up to.  Don't know why you'd need radians but there is a simple conversion from one to the other. :)
I have many ideas but need the help of others to find way to make use of them.

You can also open the subforum list at the bottom of the search page and select only a few subforums, thus preventing errors.

I've been wondering for months how to select subforums so that the search function works, I only saw "check all" and didn't know you could click on the title to make all subforums appear. :D  :(

Yeah it's not obvious at all and should essentially be show from the beginning, unfortunately Laurent doesn't have time to change anything...

This is the built-in forum search, even with time I don't know what I could do.

We're all programmers, aren't we? So what do we do, when we don't know something? Yes, we do research and ask around and if there's no easy way, we take the hard way and implement what we need on our own. :)

I meant this error. I get it quite frequently when wanting to search.

Thanks for the tip :)

I'm aware, that's why I said you should limit your search to a few subforums, instead of all of them (as per default).
