Is stop motion animation mainstream at all and wheres a good place to learn animation online for free? I'm wondering if stop motion animation is "in" sorta speak nowadays or is it too old? I know most animation is done on a computer but is there any stop motion out there that maybe makes a tv show or something like that?

I don't see how your question relates to SFML graphics...

The most famous stop animation company at the moment is probably Aardman Animations, makers of Wallace and Grommit, Chicken Run etc.

Stop animation isn't used that much anymore because of the time and effort it takes, computer animation is much quicker.
