Particle Engine in SFML2.0
« on: March 16, 2012, 10:55:03 am »
Does anyone know of a Particle Engine that works well with SFML2.0 and doesn't need days of debugging and messing to get it working?

I heard from loads of people that SPARK is broken with SFML2.0

Particles as in nice explosions/emitters etc..

Cheers.

Hi there.
I think the library by Nexus is great. I'm using it a few months already. Managed to find a lot of interesting books there.

Yes, look at my Airport game for an example. I have used thor::ParticleSystem for fire, smoke and explosion effects. However I have to admit I'm not the best graphic designer, I'm sure other people are able to create really good-looking explosions.

Thor is not yet compatible to SFML's new naming convention, I hope to finish the conversion as soon as possible.

@GloverLilian: Thanks :)

I hate to spoil your mood, but GloverLilian looks like a well-behaved spambot. He signed in today (just to write this post), quoted 3 words from my post and managed to find books (?) on your page. And he links to a page with some (well thought SEO-wise) keywords in the signature :P

Oh damn, you're right. I was also confused about the books, now I know why :D

I should look more often at registration date, amount of posts and signature.
