I need help!
« on: July 21, 2012, 06:31:11 pm »
Hi, everyone! Sorry for my stupid questions and poor English  :)
I have some expierence in c++ and want to create little games with sfml (using code:blocks). But, some of examples in tutorial are not working. But, this is not a main problem. I read full tutorial on site, but still can't create something good. No one little level, no one little game. I need your help, need more examples and tutorials. I can't find it. And it's some harder to read in English, not in native language... I hope, somebody can helps me...

What's your native language then, maybe some know of tutorials in your language. ;)

Anyways there aren't many other places that hold tutorials. Also I think with the given one you should be able to get a good starting point to create something on your own...

Not sure if anyone will make use of that email address. ;)

If the language is really the big obstacles then you should maybe try to find a Ukraine forum on game development (I'm sure there's something in that direction). Often they also cover libraries such as SFML.

If the language is not the problem, then you should write more what your problems are. The examples really show quite a lot. If it's game development in general then you should probably read some books or articles about that. We're also here to help you out with such topics but I'm not sure if anyone will take his or her freetime to talk you through things like this. ;)

I can't find anything really useful on Ukrainian forums. I can understand much in English, it's only hard to me to explain my problems. So, I think, that somewhere must be few examples with simple games using SFML. So simple, that a child understand it ))   And I hope, somebody gives me a link for it. Or can help to make one simple level of a simple game such as Pacman or TD game

Unfortunatly there doesn't exist such a site (at least not that I know of)... :-\

But gorgoroth666 has done quite a nice job with creating three tutorials. One of them covers a pong game and the other one a breakout game. I guess it's not explained for children but you'll never find anything that explains it down to such a level because it's extremly hard to do so. That's his blog: https://riseagain.wordpress.com/

I still have the feeling you're missing some knowledge in game making in general. There are many other resources on the internet that will give you more insight on generic game design, just use Google. ;)
