The new SFML team
« on: April 21, 2014, 07:50:41 pm »
Hi

After this discussion, I've decided to open the development of SFML to a team composed of the most talented and involved developers in this community (sorry for those I forgot -- the team may grow in the future).

What this means is that I'll no longer be the only one to decide and write code; this was already the case with Nexus, Marco and Jonathan being part of the team, but this was just enough to make SFML survive. These new members (yes, the list is coming) will bring their motivation, ideas and technical skills, and there will be nobody to say "no" to what they propose. Instead, the team will discuss every suggestion and implement it if it meets an agreement.

Development of bug fixes and new features will also be a lot more open to the community, we don't want motivated members to see their contribution rejected most of the time. We need everyone's energy to make SFML the best multimedia library out there.

The team is composed of:
- Nexus
- binary1248
- Tank
- Grimshaw
- eXpl0it3r
- Hiura
- Sonkun
- and myself

In this team I'll be nothing more than a regular member: everyone will get an equal weight on decisions.

I hope you like this major change; in any case you should soon see a difference ;)

Hooray! I hope this turns out as good as it sounds. :D

Just a small request, could you change the forum titles from "SFML team" to "SFML Team"?

Wow this sounds great! :)

I am keen on seeing what may come out of this. probably only good things!

I must say that I had lost my hope there for a while for SFML, when the task list was just growing and growing, and future versions seeming to be years away.

This is great, I was a bit afraid when you said that SFML could die. ;)

Nice birthday present. :)
Hope this major change is for the best in the long run. In any case, sharing one's power amongst a team is a remarkable event.

Hooray for SFML!!

This is very exciting news! Hopefully SFML will become an even better SFML with more frequent updates and fixes, more features and flexibility!

A whole heartedly welcome to the new official SFML Team, and thanks to all the contributors. I hope to become one of you some day.

Wow, this is quite a big change!

I'm pretty hopeful though. Having more people will hopefully mean more things get done and also hopefully much more progress.

Congrats to all the new team members and good luck. :)
