Looks good, especially the silver font. I think the green "2" is a little bit too shiny and colorized. Or the gear's blue is too weak. Maybe, the logo looks even cleaner in the end without the "2"...

I agree that the current SFML Theme is very colorful and highsaturated, but in my opinion less is more when it comes to design. Less saturation, but still noticable colour tends to give more visual appeal. At the same time i wanted newcomers to focus on the "2" at first sight, since its a new logo, a new version, and alot more new goodies coming. Hence the highsaturated 2.

I like that one a lot, PointyStick, was actually thinking about making a simple one myself, you beat me to that.

Though it should read "multimedia" instead of just "media". Would be cool if that could fit in somehow.

The PSD is available if you want to play around with it

A GIF wouldn't be optimal for this, perhaps a flash, or just separate the images and just hardcode the animation using rotations?

I appears I don't have Photoshop, and paint.net/GIMP doesn't seem to open those .psd files properly.

Would you be willing to upload separate PNG's of the gear and foreground?
