Actually the logo's that has come up now is mostly Web2.0 based I feel, especially with the colour scheme so I think it might be pretty hard to come up with something completely new. It would be something else if someone come up with a mascot for SFML or something.

A mascot?

And IMO the color scheme shouldn't limit you, and I like the web 2.0 look. It gives a great feel to it and it looks professional and plastic due to shines, such as David's logo

Not bad Hai, not bad at all. I like the one with the version number. But I think that you can't use red as it goes against the requirements on colour. Check original post for the requirements.

Though the red looks perfekt for it.
