It's funny you thought of the same thing I did. I was going to recommend you do exactly that. Put the arrow inside the the pentagon. It only seemed like the logical direction to go with this logo, I guess :)

Try using the arrow in the pentagon version with a pentagon with hard edges so it fits more, just to see how it looks.

Sorry but I find the arrow in the pentagon non-natural and too heavy.
The previous logo looks so perfect now  :-*

This one was perfect!

I love it.

I think it would be even better if the pentagon was on top of the text:

Wouldn't it be better with a longer arrow and the power symbol nearer the SFML, like this :

instead of this ?

Putting the logo on the other side of "SFML" might also be worth considering, since it could move closer to "SFML", because of the space the 'L' provides (in contrast to 'S').

I think this is my favorite one.

Me too

me three   :D
Me four. The other one looks too dirty and evil in some way, while this one is clean and happy.
Me five :D

I guess we should give him his money, this feels like the best option.  The arrow twists at the start as work is done and then shoots straight out at the end showing speed, logo is clean, light and easy on the eyes, full score imo!

Here is another concept that someone sent me. The idea behind the logo is obvious, no need to explain :P

In case you like it, it's not the final version, it can still be refined.

It's really late (final choice is tomorrow)... but that's a candidate anyway. Let's give it a chance.

I like Cornstalks' 3rd variant (shadow or not depends on context) - but wouldn't it be better to make the text colour brighter/more white? Right now it looks dark, dirty and evil.

I still like Haze'd twisty arrow logo the best.

2 dark, light shadow:

I like this one.
But this would be my second choice.

I'll post some versions with light text and extended arrow tails tomorrow. Also let me know if anyone has any other ideas! I'll give a better response to things tomorrow, I'm posting from my mobile now.

For me, these two are the best creations so far:

It's difficult to tell which one of them I prefer. Fonts or shadows can still be adapted, but I would keep this concept.

However I don't like the new one, it's way too cluttered (the thing that we are trying to leave behind since months) and has strange fonts.

I actually find these images to be really neat. The little box kind of shows the power of sfml and the text itself looks good.  I like the last row personally, especially the one in the 2nd column, looks sweet.

Can we see that on the website?

The symbols are difficult to relate to SFML (it reminds me of statistics and RSS), and not easy to memorize. What I really love in Cornstalk's logo is the combination of simplicity, uniqueness and meaning -- in my opinion, no other logo in this thread has achieved this.

Apart from that, the logo is completely unpolished. It will take at least another week until we can agree on a suitable variation. Taking into account that we wanted to refine existing ideas and that we have a deadline, I would say such a proposal should have come earlier. For existing logos however (the ones of Cornstalks and Haze), there exist already tons of variations and integrations into the website, so we meanwhile have a good overview how the logo will look like in different situations. For the new logo, we have nothing except an idea.

Can we see that on the website?
Why don't you put it together? ;)
